Laura Skolnik directs Jhpiego’s resource development efforts, leading her team to engage partners and institutional donors. An experienced global public health leader, Laura has led and managed successful public health programs for more than 25 years.
At Jhpiego, Laura served most recently as Senior Director of Global Programs, providing leadership and strategic direction to global programs across the organization, including managing partner and donor relationships and working with country directors to ensure impact and efficiency in country programs and operations. As Director of Country Programs under the Maternal and Child Survival Program, she oversaw and ensured high performance of more than 50 country programs. Laura joined Jhpiego in 2012 as Lesotho Country Director, where she expanded and diversified the portfolio and secured a tenfold increase in funding for HIV prevention efforts.
Before joining Jhpiego, Laura worked on HIV prevention and gender programming for USAID in Washington, DC, and Tanzania, and for the United Nations in Thailand and New York. Laura has a master’s degree from the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University. She holds a certificate from the Academy for Women and Leadership at the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School.
