The Women Workers Health Empowerment Network is offering free comprehensive HPV screening in Caloocan City, Philippines, using a new technology – HPV DNA testing through self-collection. It’s part of an effort to bring care closer to where women live and work, and address health inequities faced by women in the Philippines.
This is a partnership between Jhpiego, the Government of the Philippines and community leaders to expand access to cervical cancer screening, which women historically haven’t had.
“Regular cervical cancer screening is not just a health measure; it is an act of empowerment and self-care,” says Dr. Ingrid Magnata, Jhpiego’s Country Program Manager in the Philippines. “By taking charge of your health, you contribute to the well-being of your community and future generations.”
