Commitment to Excellence and Innovation is Key

  • Evidence-based practices, simulation training, and team-centered approaches enhance care, minimize risks, and build trust within health care teams.

A Well-trained Health Workforce is Vital

  • Jhpiego is dedicated to advocating for policies, providing training, and offering supportive supervision globally to empower and sustain health care professionals.

Women's Voices and Choices are Paramount

  • Jhpiego is committed to promoting respectful, culturally sensitive, and safe health care for all women.

Partnerships for Maternal and Newborn Health are Power

  • Global gatherings, like FIGO and the International Maternal Newborn Health Conference (IMNHC), re-energize our collective movement and catalyze countries to accelerate action for the health of mothers and newborns in support of shared global goals. In this moment of uncertainty and change, Jhpiego is committed to meeting the needs of countries and communities and transforming shared knowledge into action. As we prepare for the 2026 IMNHC in Nairobi, we want to be clear: we are committed to sustaining and growing the AlignMNH platform well beyond the conference. The expansion of AlignMNH will depend on new partnerships—this growth is only possible through collaboration with diverse partners who share our vision. We will continue to connect and adapt the platform in response to country and community needs, remaining grounded in evidence-based solutions that put mothers and newborns at the center of all we do. The momentum building toward IMNHC 2026 is just the beginning. Together with our partners—current and future—we will ensure this movement delivers lasting change for generations to come.
  • Collaborations with organizations like UNFPA, FIGO, International Confederation of Midwives, International Council of Nurses, and the International Pediatric Association enhance our collective impact, setting global standards for health care excellence.

In recent years, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) devices have become more portable, less expensive, and better suited for use in obstetrics. Evidence has shown artificial intelligence (AI) to be a promising tool for multiple POCUS uses, including gestational age estimation, fetal presentation, fetal heart rate confirmation, and more. We will introduce the rationale for POCUS in obstetrics; demonstrate use of multiple POCUS devices, including AI-enabled functionality, and discuss practical use cases and feasibility in a range of obstetric settings. At session's end, participants will understand these key issues and will have had the opportunity to try out multiple POCUS devices.
